Abandoned By Philodo!
Philodo: Where new bikes come with unforeseen issues and customer support is unresponsive. Beware of receiving defective products and poor post-purchase service. Think twice before buying from Philodo.
I recently purchased two bikes from Philodo, the H8 and the Jumbo. The H8 came with a fat washer on the front rim, contrary to the instructions and the demonstration video, which showed a lock washer. Upon contacting Philodo, they mentioned the change was due to a new motor design on the H8. However, they stopped responding when I sought further clarification. Has anyone else experienced this? Are you using a fat washer on the left side of the front tire instead of the lock washer?
Additionally, the Philodo Jumbo arrived with the front crank rubbing against the hub, causing significant noise and damage, making the bike unrideable. Despite multiple attempts to contact Philodo in California, they have not responded, leaving me to either repair the bike myself or pay for professional repairs. My advice is to be cautious with this company. I still haven’t heard back, and both bikes are in questionable condition, making me uncomfortable riding them despite being brand new from Philodo’s website.

A Ride Ruined: David vs. Goliath on Two Wheels
David had always loved the thrill of the open road. For months, he and his wife Cyndi had dreamt of exploring the scenic bike trails surrounding their town. The perfect opportunity presented itself as the Fourth of July approached. To celebrate the holiday, David splurged on two new electric bikes from Philodo, a brand he’d heard raving reviews about. He chose the awesome Philodo H8 for his wife and the powerful Philodo Jumbo for himself. As they unboxed their new rides, their excitement was palpable, envisioning long rides under the summer sun and fireworks lighting up the night sky as they rode home.
The assembly process started smoothly. David carefully laid out the parts and instruction manuals for both bikes on their driveway. But as he began to piece together the Philodo H8, he hit the first snag. The washers included didn’t match the instructions. He double-checked the manual, compared the parts, and scoured online forums for similar issues, but the discrepancy remained. The washers were the wrong size, making it impossible to attach the front wheel as instructed.
“Maybe it’s just a small error,” David thought, trying to stay optimistic. “I’ll contact the company and ask them.”
Determined to keep their plans on track, he moved on to his Philodo Jumbo. His optimism was short-lived. As he unpacked the bike, he noticed the gear was bent, rendering it useless. A wave of frustration washed over him. Cyndi, who had been watching eagerly from the porch, saw the disappointment in his eyes and came over to help.
“Can we fix it?” she asked, hoping for a quick solution.
David shook his head. “Not without the right parts. I’ll have to contact Philodo.”
That evening, he composed a detailed email to Philodo’s customer service, explaining the issues with both bikes and attaching videos to illustrate the problems. Cyndi, trying to lighten the mood, suggested they plan a barbecue instead. They spent the night in, flipping burgers on the grill and trying to make the best of their holiday weekend, but their thoughts kept drifting back to the bikes that sat uselessly in the garage.
Days turned into a week. David’s emails to Philodo went unanswered. Frustration morphed into anger as he sent follow-up messages, each one more urgent than the last. He called their customer service hotline, only to be met with endless hold music. His dream of a perfect biking weekend had been shattered, and now he felt ignored and powerless.
“We have to fight back,” Cyndi urged. “They can’t just ignore us.”
David agreed. He spent hours drafting a thorough complaint to the Better Business Bureau and leaving detailed reviews on consumer websites. He even took to social media, sharing his story and tagging Philodo in his posts, hoping to pressure them into a response.
The days stretched on with no word from Philodo. David’s determination hardened into resolve. He decided to escalate the matter, consulting a consumer rights attorney and considering small claims court. The fight against Philodo felt daunting—like David taking on Goliath—but he refused to back down.
Cyndi stood by his side through it all, offering support and helping him document every step of the process. They reached out to other consumers who had faced similar issues, building a network of support that strengthened their resolve.
The Fourth of July had come and gone, but David’s household was buzzing with a different kind of excitement. They weren’t riding the trails they’d dreamed of, but they were riding a wave of solidarity, fighting for what was right.
At this point still nothing from Philodo!
Our Dream: ( IF PHILODO WOULD STEP UP. WHICH AS OF TODAY THEY HAVE NOT!! OR even send me a new front cranck for the Jumbo)
Finally, weeks after the initial purchase, Philodo’s customer service reached out. They offered replacements and a formal apology, citing an internal miscommunication for the delays. David and Cyndi accepted the replacements but remained cautious, wary of the company’s promises.
The new bikes arrived, and this time, they were perfect. David and Cyndi assembled them together, feeling a mixture of relief and triumph. They rode out on a warm summer morning, the wind in their hair and the thrill of victory in their hearts.
Their fight against Philodo wasn’t just about two faulty bikes; it was about standing up for the little guy and refusing to be ignored. As they pedaled through the winding trails, David couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction. They had turned a ruined weekend into a testament to perseverance, proving that even the smallest voices can make a difference against the biggest giants.
